Volunteer With Us

The Erewash Canal has been cared for by volunteers for more than 50 years — people who love heritage, nature, and community. If you’d like to make a difference locally, we’d love to welcome you. We meet every Friday at Langley Mill for light maintenance and canal care activities. Other activities (Open Days) take place at Sandiacre Lock cottages on the third Sunday of the month. 

What You Can Get Involved In

  • Heritage & visitor engagement (usually Sundays/Bank Holidays once a month)

  • Events and community activities (as and when you have time to help)

  • Digital, admin, and behind‑the‑scenes support (hours/times to suit)
